Supervisory Board Approved Petrol Group's and Petrol d.d., Ljubljana's Annual Report 2017
Ljubljana, 6th March 2018 - At its 10th meeting held on 6th March 2018, the Supervisory Board of Petrol d.d., Ljubljana discussed and approved the audited Petrol Group’s and Petrol d.d., Ljubljana’s Annual Report for 2017. The Petrol Group performed very successfully in 2017.
In 2017, the Petrol Group performed very successfully in its core business areas – energy and trade. Energy industry belongs to the most demanding branches of economy; it forms the basis of all industry and transport. Energy companies are strongly affected both by global economic developments, reflected in the prices of energy products, and by the economic situation on their sales markets. Among the significant factors are also the state measures introduced to regulate energy prices and markets. Through our decisive organisation and active risk management policy, we respond appropriately to the situation in the industry. Slovenia and Croatia, Petrol’s major sales markets, recorded economic growth in 2017. Trade has rapidly developed over the last years. This development involves strong digitalisation of sales channels and use of tools enabling customers to be exceptionally well informed. Petrol Group has been successful in following these trends through implementing its strategic projects.
In 2017, the Petrol Group generated sales revenues of EUR 4.5 billion, which represents an increase of 17% on 2016. Operating profit totalled EUR 112.2 million, up 13% from 2016. EBITDA amounted to EUR 159.6 million, up 11% from the previous year. Net profit was EUR 81.1 million, up 12% from 2016.
In 2017, the Petrol Group sold 3.4 million tons of oil products, 5% more than in 2016. Revenues from sales of merchandise amounted to EUR 538.3 million, up 7% from 2016. At the end of 2017, the Petrol Group operated 495 service stations, of which 317 in Slovenia, 106 in Croatia, 38 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 12 in Serbia, 11 in Montenegro and 11 in Kosovo. In 2017, the Petrol Group sold 1.3 TWh of natural gas, 151.0 thousand tons of liquefied petroleum gas, 21.0 TWh of electricity and 140.8 thousand MWh of heat.
