The first parking sensors for electric vehicle users in Ljubljana

In October, we installed the first 24 parking sensors in Ljubljana as part of the European Urban-E project. We are the first in Slovenia to employ this innovative solution, which brings advantages both for users and for us, the managers of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

The new parking sensors enable gathering additional data in the charging system management system, which, among other things, enables a better user experience, as the user has accurate information on whether a parking space is free or not.

Parking sensors also serve as a tool to optimize the utilisation of the charging infrastructure to provide free charging points. This has been quite an issue so far, as it would often happen that an electric car driver would arrive at a charging station that was supposed to be free, but in reality it was occupied.

The innovative solution will be linked to the new app and the OneCharge back-end system coming in November. New sensors will be installed in Zagreb.

The photos below show the process of setting up the sensors.
