Petrol Group's successful performance in the first three months of 2010

The economic recession which marked the Petrol Groups business operations in 2009 is still not over, and the operations carried out in the first three months of 2010 were also affected by it. In view of the current economic situation, the performance of the Petrol Group has been estimated as successful.

The Petrol Group sold 509 thousand tonnes of oil products in the first three months of 2010, down 12% from the same period of the previous year and in accordance with the plan. Revenues from sales of supplementary and other merchandise amounted to EUR 106.4m, 17% above the figure achieved in the same period of 2009 and 15% more than planned. In the first three months of 2010, the Petrol Group operated 435 service stations, of which 311 in Slovenia, 75 in Croatia, 40 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 3 in Serbia, 4 in Kosovo and 2 in Montenegro.

In the first three months of 2010, the Petrol Group operated 28 gas supply concessions. At the end of March 2010, its customers were supplied from 2,233 LPG depots. In the first three months of 2010, the Petrol Group sold 46,033 thousand m3 of natural gas, achieving the level of sales as in the same period of 2009 and exceeding the planned quantities by 5%, and 12 thousand tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas, down 3% from the same period of the previous year and 7% more than planned. The Petrol Group sold 88.4 thousand MWh of electricity, exceeding by 19% the quantities sold in the same period of the previous year and by 2% the planned quantities.

The Petrol Groups net sales revenues in the first three months of 2010 amounted to EUR 607 million, exceeding by 9% the figure achieved in the same period of 2009 and by 6% the planned figure. Gross profit amounted to EUR 68.7 million, down 1% from the same period of 2009 and 2% more than planned. Net profit generated in the first three months of 2010 amounted to EUR 9 million, which is better than in the same period of 2009 when the Petrol Group generated a loss of EUR 5.6 million and 2% more than planned.

The Supervisory Board of Petrol d.d., Ljubljana will discuss the report on Petrol Groups performance in the first three months of 2010 at its meeting scheduled to take place at the end of May 2010. After the meeting, the complete report will be published on the companys website and on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange SEOnet.
