Petrol and Russian Gazprom Neft Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Potential Business Co-operatio

Ljubljana, 22nd March Within the framework of the visit of Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, to Slovenia, Petrol d.d. Ljubljana and Gazprom Neft signed an agreement of understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities of business cooperation in the sphere of oil product trade.

The signatories, Tomaž Berločnik, Chairman of the Management Board of Petrol and Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom Neft agreed to explore cooperation in the sphere of supply and marketing of motor fuel, lubricants, domestic heating oil and aviation fuel. The agreement also deals with the development of business cooperation in the wider area, particularly on the Balkans and those markets where Petrol is not present yet.

Petrol is the biggest Slovenian energy company, the biggest importer in Slovenia, one on the major Slovenian companies in terms of revenues and also one of the major Slovenian trade companies. The company's core business activity is oil product trade (its retail network consists of 441 service stations), trade in gas, electricity and other energy products. Petrol is also active on the neighbouring markets of Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo.
