Petrol signs the Commitment for a Climate Neutral Ljubljana by 2030
On Wednesday, 13 March, President of the Management Board of Petrol Sašo Berger signed the Commitment for a Climate Neutral Ljubljana by 2030. The City of Ljubljana already joined the 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission in 2022. Petrol is committed to actively participating in the achievement of the ambitious climate targets. In particular, it will focus on solutions in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable mobility, sustainable construction, digitalisation, innovation, and technology.
Ljubljana, Kranj, and Velenje are the Slovenian cities selected for the 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission. This Mission is a European Commission programme in which the EC will monitor and support selected cities in their transformation to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
Its purpose is to accelerate the progress of Europe's most ambitious cities, serving as an inspiration to all cities in Europe on their path to climate neutrality. The participating cities will benefit from support and advice, from advantages in accessing EU funding, from participation in innovation activities and pilot and demonstration projects, from networking opportunities, from exchange of good practices, and from high visibility.
