Activities of the company

The company has been engaged in energy operations, i.e. supplying, trading and acting as an agent and intermediary in the natural gas market, the company’s principal activity, since 1978. Its operations in the area of natural gas supply and services also extend abroad. To be able to ensure a reliable supply, it has appropriate and diversified procurement sources at its disposal, as well as transport and storage facilities. Geoplin d.o.o. Ljubljana and its subsidiaries Geoplin d.o.o. in Zagreb, Geoplin d.o.o. Beograd and Geocom d.o.o., which are wholly owned by the parent company, as well as Zagorski metalac d.o.o., which is 25 percent owned by the parent company. In 2022, the company’s focus was mainly on carrying out and developing its principal activity of marketing and trading in  natural  gas.  To  this  end,  the  company  developed  trading  infrastructure  to  support  the
optimisation of its procurement and sales portfolio, as well as its expansion to new markets. Together with efficient energy consumption and RES projects, it also continued to develop and market energy solutions.  
 
In 2022, the Geoplin Group sold 19.4 TWh of natural gas, generating EUR 1,350.2 million in sales revenue. The group’s net profit for 2022 totalled EUR -28.3 million. The net profit or loss attributable to Petrol d.d., Ljubljana amounted to EUR -21.1 million. The group’s equity totalled EUR 113.7 million as at 31 December 2022.
