Petrol acquires an 85% share in Beogas Invest d.o.o.

Ljubljana, 10 April 2012 Petrol d.d. of Ljubljana has acquired an 85% share in Beogas Invest d.o.o. of Belgrade, which indirectly provides natural gas distribution services in three Belgrade municipalities. In this way Petrol is realising the plans set out in the company's strategy for the period 20122016.

Petrol d.d., Ljubljana has acquired an 85% share in Beogas Invest d.o.o., which is the sole owner of Beogas d.o.o and Domingas d.o.o., two companies providing natural gas distribution services in the Belgrade municipalities of Čukarica, Palilula and Voždovac. These two companies own a 220-km gas pipeline system and more than 100 km of connections, to which 10,000 customers with an annual natural gas consumption of around 15 million m3 are currently connected.

With the acquisition of this shareholding in Beogas Invest d.o.o., Petrol has become the third largest individual natural gas distributor in Serbia. The Petrol group already includes Rodgas AD, which distributes natural gas in Bačka Topola, and Petrol has already obtained a licence to construct a natural gas network in the Pećinci municipality.

Chairman of the Petrol Management Board Tomaž Berločnik gave the following statement: "With the purchase of an 85% share in Beogas Invest d.o.o., Petrol has taken a major step forward in the realisation of its strategic priorities. Petrol is becoming a true energy company and consolidating its position in the region."
