10th anniversary of the Our Energy Connects project

This year, Petrol celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Our Energy Connects charity project and employees in the Petrol office building again voted on the recipient of a EUR 2,000 donation. Employees decided to give this year’s donation to the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste - Polje for the all-Slovenian humanitarian project Chain of Good People, the goal of which is to help families in need across Slovenia. Donations from points of sales are still being collected; a new record is expected.

This year, Petrol celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Our Energy Connects charity project, the aim of which is to connect employees with those who need our help the most. The funds that Petrol would otherwise spend on New Year's business gifts can be donated by employees working at more than 300 points of sale across Slovenia to help individuals or families in need or support projects in their local environments, namely in the form of a EUR 200 check. Last year, two different groups of 18 points of sales banded together and donated their funds to the Slovenian Red Cross and Sonček Sporting Association, while it seems that an even greater number of points of sale will come together for a good cause this year and exceed the last year’s records.

In addition to points of sale, a check in the amount of EUR 500 can also be donated by each of the three wholesale regional units, as well by employees of the office building at Dunajska 50. The latter decided through a survey that they would donate their check in the amount of EUR 2000 to the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste - Polje this year, namely for their all-Slovenian humanitarian project called the Chain of Good People. The project was designed with the aim and goal of helping as many families living in poverty across Slovenia as possible through an empowerment programme.

The President of the Management Board mag. Nade Drobne Popović presented the check to the Project Manager at the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste - Polje, Nina Balent, who took the opportunity to thank all the employees of Petrol: “I would like to give my sincerest thanks to you for becoming a link in the Chain of Good people. With your selfless help, we will be able to help families across Slovenia resolve the hardships of poverty and offer them comprehensive support, as well as opportunities to overcome poverty.”

Drobne Popović also agreed that, in these trying times especially, it is necessary to come together and help those in need: “It is important not to forget those who need help the most in these times. At Petrol, we have been nurturing our sense or energy for charity through various charity projects, and we will continue to do so in the future. The feeling when employees come together and help people in need is truly priceless.”
