Light pollution

At the Petrol Group, we recognize the importance of monitoring environmental noise, which can impact quality of life. Therefore, we systematically monitor and assess noise pollution caused by our noise sources, such as service stations, warehouses, and energy facilities.

As part of operational monitoring, we conduct annual noise emission assessments at approximately 180 locations. Measurements are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on Limit Values of Environmental Noise Indicators, while also considering municipal spatial plans that define noise protection levels.

To accurately assess environmental noise levels, we use a 3D acoustic model that includes:

  • Spatial characteristics of the location,
  • Terrain configuration (topography),
  • Buildings and other influencing factors.

The model enables the simulation of noise propagation and the identification of areas where additional measures are required.

Based on the measurement results, we implement:

  • Organizational measures (e.g., changes to operating hours, logistics),
  • Technical measures (e.g., noise barriers, replacement of equipment with quieter alternatives),
  • Follow-up measurements to verify the effectiveness of implemented measures.

This ensures that noise emissions remain within legally permissible limits and helps us minimize the impact on the environment and local communities.
