Petrol Once Again Wins the Annual Best Public Toilet Award

Every year on 19 November, the World Toilet Day is celebrated. To mark this day, the Association for Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (KVČB) has been carrying out a campaign to rate the cleanliness of public toilets. Now in its twelfth year, the campaign aims at raising awareness of the importance of well-maintained and clean public toilets, while providing the Association’s members – and the public at large – with information on accessible public toilets in Slovenia’s municipalities and at petrol stations along motorways. The members of the committee have given the best rating to the Petrol Mlake sales point in the direction of Italy.

The concluding event of the 2020 Best Public Toilet campaign took place via Zoom on Friday, 20 November 2020. The awards and recognitions for best public toilets in Slovenia were given by the Association for Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (KVČB). During the year, members of the committee travelled almost 4,000 kilometres and surveyed more than 150 public toilets across Slovenia. They inspected public toilets in 11 urban municipalities, 78 other municipalities, and at 56 gas stations along motorways. The winner in the latter category was the Petrol Mlake sales point in the direction of Italy. In the category of urban municipalities, the Association’s commission awarded the Municipality of Ljubljana, while among other municipalities first place was taken by the Municipality of Krško.
