Žan Kranjec’s press conference following his 3rd place in Sölden

On Monday 28 October, Petrol hosted a press conference, organised in collaboration with the Slovenian Ski Association, for their Team Petrol skier Žan Kranjec, who the day before had opened his World Cup season with a third-place finish in the giant slalom in Sölden, Austria.

After finishing last season with a third place in the giant slalom competition in Soldeu (Andorra), Žan has opened his account this time round with a fantastic showing in Sölden, Austria. The similarity in the names and the podium position are not as important to Žan as the fact that he has made a positive start to the new campaign, demonstrating that he trained well pre-season and belongs at the very top of the sport – as he told the media at the press conference organised, in collaboration with the Slovenian Ski Association, at Petrol headquarters. He also pointed out that he learned something new every year, which means that he now has so much experience that he knows what to do to achieve good results. However, he remains, as ever, modest: “I tried to attack both runs the way I know how. I think I managed it pretty well, but there are still some things I could do better. But I was rewarded in the end for the way I went about my work."
