Petrol increases electricity savings by modernising public lighting in Croatia

Following the successful modernisation of public lighting in the Croatian town of Zabok - where Zabok has modernised its public lighting system and reduced electricity costs by more than 75% - a new story of sustainable success is already beginning. This time, the Croatian municipality of Oriovac decided to modernise its public lighting. In partnership with Petrol, they will carry out a reconstruction project based on the energy contracting model, which will ensure the municipality's electricity savings and have a positive effect on the costs of the municipal budget.

Petrol places great importance on projects for the modernisation of efficient lighting, as they believe that efficient energy use is key to achieving climate goals. In October, they concluded a new partnership, this time with the Croatian municipality of Oriovac. As part of a ten-year public-private partnership for energy-efficient modernisation of the public lighting system, the project will save more than 480 MWh of electricity per year, and reduce CO2 emissions by over 770 tonnes over the ten-year contract period.

The municipality will also use modern and energy-efficient lighting to reduce light pollution and improve general and traffic safety, without incurring additional debt. Petrol is happy to make a positive contribution to the environment through another partnership in efficient lighting.
